We are a legal services firm and deal with PDFs 90%. We submit all our applications online in PDF to the government portal. We are currently using ABBY FineReader as an alternative for Acrobat DC. We are really happy with the software because of cost savings (instead of paying monthly to Adobe), speed of the application to open and process documents (Adobe uses a lot of RAM and resources in your PC). Our favorite features are file size reduction customization, which is not available in Adobe Acrobat, and Editing capability.

ABBYY FineReader has many languages choices, accurate OCR, and (an) intuitive interface, which make it easy to use. The stamp creator is my favorite feature, since it creates clean transparency from a scanned signature better than Kofax Power PDF.
